Shopify Partners With Spotify To Allow Artists To Sell Merch Directly from The Platform

E-commerce giants Shopify have partnered with music service Spotify to allow artists to sell merchandise directly from their artist page. According to Spotify’s announcement, artists are now able to connect their Shopify store catalog and get fans to engage with their merchandise while enjoying their music, enhancing the shoppers’ experience and creating a seamless experience between entertainment and shopping. At this stage, each artist’s profile will be able to present 3 items for purchase.

This collaboration is set to significantly increase the number of artists that are looking to start selling their merchandise online to use Shopify and encourage artists who already sell merchandise on other platforms to move their operations to Shopify in order to leverage what looks to be a very promising partnership.

Currently, the feature is in Beta and only available in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the U.K., and the U.S. for the time being.
