CHINA’S RETAILERS FACE HARD TRUTH: IF YOU REOPEN, THEY WON’T COME

About 60% of operators of large malls see sales dropping around 30% to 70% on the year for the first quarter of 2020, with virtually no members expecting growth, a survey by the China Chain Store & Franchise Association found. Meanwhile, roughly the same percentage of online retailersĀ see sales holding steady or growing.
80% of restaurants and more than 90% of commercial facilities have resumed business across China, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
