Rakuten, a large Japanese E-commerce and retail company, is now providing their customers a new service. This service will allow their users to now use cryptocurrencies in shops around Japan. The cryptocurrency service works by allowing users to exchange their bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies into Rakuten e-money which can be paid through their Pay app or credit card.
Rakuten aims to attract customers by not imposing a transfer fee, which in this case can range from 10 to 1000 USD each month. With Rakuten’s eCommerce service reaching over 95 million users, this means that users can pay with their crypto wallet at thousands of shops across Japan that have the Pay App.
