TikTok to begin livestreaming e-commerce in Indonesia at onset of Ramadan

TikTok’s latest feature allows Indonesian online sellers to reach more online customers creatively and engagingly. TikTok’s main focus is for online merchandise in Indonesia to partake in live streaming into their approach in getting new orders online. 

As Shopee, Lazada, and Tokopedia have put out their e-commerce features to adapt to the e-commerce trends in Southeast Asia, so does Tiktok. Therefore, the sellers have access to more people to promote their products on these platforms through live streaming. 

Since online shopping is booming during Ramadan (a time of spiritual reflection, self-improvement, and worship for Muslims). As the biggest Islamic country, TikTok’s latest feature allows Indonesian online sellers to reach more online customers creatively and engagingly. TikTok’s main focus is for online merchandise in Indonesia to partake in live streaming into their approach in getting new orders online. 

  • The live streaming feature will go live in Indonesia on April 13th, as it’s the first day of Ramadan. According to Latepost’s report, on March 9th Tiktok was drawing more than 10,000 live viewers on its e-commerce live streaming feature. 
  • In February 2021, TikTok had the vision to prepare several e-commerce features for online sellers in the United States. The preparation before launch is including, the tool that lets the content creator link the products featured on TikTok to earn commission on any conversion like clicks or sales via their accounts.
