Jeff Bezos Sets His Sights On South East Asia E-commerce With A New Venture

This is Bezos’s first venture into the region, in what is believed to be, first of many as South East Asia keeps developing its stellar reputation as a highly lucrative e-commerce market.
Bezos chose to invest in Ula via his family office, Bezos Expeditions, together with our prominent investment groups such as B Capital Group, Tencent, and Prosus Ventures.
Ula is a year-and-half old startup that aims to help small retailers solve inefficiencies in their business by providing supply chain, inventory, and working capital solutions. Together with providing a wholesale marketplace, the new endeavor is set to help store owners stock only inventory they need to increase their efficiency.
Ula was founded by Nipun Mehra (x-partner at Sequoia Capital India), Alan Wong (ex-Amazon), Derry Sakti (P&G Indonesia), and Riky Tenggara (formerly with Lazada and aCommerce).
